Exploring the Southern Coast: Mody School’s Educational Odyssey

Mody School recently organized an enriching educational trip to Chennai, Mahabalipuram, and Puducherry, offering students a perfect blend of heritage, spirituality, and modern learning.

Mody School recently organized an enriching educational trip to Chennai, Mahabalipuram, and Puducherry from March 23rd to 27th, offering students a perfect blend of heritage, spirituality, and modern learning. 

Day 1: Arrival & Coastal Landmarks 

The journey began with a flight from Delhi to Chennai. After a traditional South Indian thali lunch, the students checked into Hotel Fortel. The evening was dedicated to exploring the city's landmarks: 

  • San Thome Basilica: Students delved into the historical and religious significance of this iconic structure.
  • Marina Beach: A relaxing evening by the shore allowed students to soak in the local atmosphere and coastal beauty. 

Day 2: Wildlife, Heritage & Celebrations

The second day focused on history and nature as the group transitioned from Chennai toward Puducherry: 

  • Government Museum: A deep dive into ancient artifacts and Indian heritage. 
    Crocodile Park: An adventurous stop where students learned about wildlife conservation and reptile species.
  • Puducherry Arrival: After a scenic drive and a stop at Aura Beach, the day concluded with a high-energy DJ party at the hotel, fostering camaraderie and joy among the students. 

Day 3: Spirituality & Sustainable Living 

The final leg of the journey was centered on the unique cultural fabric of Puducherry: 
Aurobindo Ashram & Ganesha Temple: Moments of reflection and spiritual learning. 
Auroville: An insightful visit to the universal township, where students explored concepts of sustainable living and global unity. 

  • Rock Beach: The trip wrapped up with a visit to the Governor’s residence, street shopping, and a serene sunset walk at Rock Beach. 

The trip was a resounding success, leaving our students with cherished memories and a broader perspective on India’s diverse cultural and geographical landscape.
